Confucianism and Taoism are philosophies which began in China. Confucianism focuses on social balance or harmony while Taoism is focused to achieve balance in life. Confucianism believes in the worship of ancestors and males were usually superior; in Taoism, women are respected equally and it created Tai Chi.

Confucianism deals with social matters, while Taoism concerns it self with the searching for meaning. regardless of the disagreements between Lao-tzu and Confucius, both Taoism and Confucianism have served as guides.
